(A) For a number of years now I have watched as our Local Council has sunk into the corrupt mess it is in now.

I’ve also seen the community getting frustrated with no consultation and decisions being made behind closed doors, so I’ve made the decision to stand up for my community and run for Mayor.

(A) I wish to make sure that all regions see their Rates being put back into local amenities, infrastructure, and events.

(A) Not really. I’m putting my trust in the community and I’m seeing that they now want to see a change. They’re sick of the corruption and scandals and just want a Council that can do the job for them.

(A) For a start, I won’t be accepting any political donations from developers or free overseas holidays!!

(A) No I don’t.

I’m a great believer in being Independent, and that’s why I like Local Government.

(A) A good question and there’s no doubt that many residents are still angry about the amalgamation.

But I feel the pulse of the community and the reason they’re unhappy is because they feel they have lost their identity and the service they use to have.

From my point of view, I want to bring the region closer together and there will be no favourites with me. We all live in Moreton Bay, we all pay the same Rates, so we should all be getting the same attention.

(A) Well I enjoy meeting people, so I will be out and about talking to residents and hearing their concerns.

After all, isn’t that what we’re paid to do?

(A) Without doubt I would like to finally see Bribie Island Road widened.

Everyone has been talking about it for years, and I want to be the one who finally does it.
